The Department of Commerce (General) was set up at Loyola in 2010, and offers under graduate course in B. Com
The Department of Commerce (General) was set up in the academic year of 2010 in order to institute a comprehensive course in commerce. This department aims at imparting a holistic education to imbibe the life-skills necessary for a career graph that is constantly on the rise.
Some key statistics for the Department of Commerce(General):
While our lecturers go out of their way to make classes as engaging as possible, we also include plenty of practical work and participatory activities to let the students hone their skills against their peers. Here are a few things we do differently:
We often join hands with the other commerce departments to conduct state-wide and nation-wide exhibition and seminars; where industry experts speak on latest trends, and hold discussions with our students.
We provide students with two E-commerce labs, one of which is dedicated to tally packages, while the other is used for practical studies in statistics, etc.
Students are taken to various organizations to give them a live demo of every aspect of finance. These visits are often followed by written or practical assignments.
We have created a commerce course that is as comprehensive as it gets, with the intention that our students have a solid stepping stone to the career of their choice. So far, we have been succeeding proficiently.
Our efforts at creating a complete academic experience pay off with the most pleasant of surprises. Here’s just a few:
1.B. Com (General) introduced as a course at Loyola Academy
2.Nikhat Banu represents India in South-Asia Junior Table Tennis Championship at Dehradun and wins Gold Medal in team event
1.Students participate in program by NGO Divya Disha. Beneficiaries include street children, child labourers, migrant children, runaway children, those affected by HIV/AIDS, and victims of abuse.
