Loyola Academy (LA), a spacious eco-friendly campus with excellent infrastructure is managed and administered by the Catholic clergy, popularly called Jesuits of the Andhra Jesuit Province, belonging to the Society of Jesus (founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola), an International Catholic Religious Order. Loyola Academy was founded by Rev Fr T. Balaiah SJ in 1976 in Alwal, Secunderabad, Telangana.
Initially began with Intermediate courses and an associate degree in Chemical technology. Subsequently other UG programmes (1978) and PG programmes (1993) were started.
Loyola Academy was granted Autonomous status in 1992 for Degree courses and PG courses in 2010. Appreciating the achievements and qualitative pursuit of Higher Education needs, UGC awarded Loyola Academy “A College with Potential for Excellence” (CPE) in 2008.
In addition to this, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) was accredited the college in the year 2005 and reaccredited in the year 2011 with ‘A’ grade (3.50 out of 4.00 CGPA). National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked our College between 100-150 for both (2017-18 & 2018-19) successive years.

How Loyola’s excellence has been recognized
LA is affiliated with the prestigious Osmania University, LA Degree College was granted autonomous status in 1992 by the University Grants Commission. The same autonomy was granted to the PG College in 2010 by Osmania University.
Appreciating the achievements and qualitative pursuit of higher educational needs, UGC has awarded a rare status known as “College with Potential for Excellence” to this College and has also extended CPE phase II projects.
In addition to this, the National Accreditation and Assessment Council reaccredited this college in 2011 and awarded an ‘A’ grade (3.50 out of 4 CGPA) for the second time, in recognition of its excellent contribution to the cause of higher education.
Finally, ‘India Today’ has been rating our college in the 2nd position for the past 5 consecutive years among the city colleges of Hyderabad for Arts, Science and Commerce.
