About Library

Establishment: The library at Loyola Degree & PG College considered being one in the twin cities. The existing Loyola Library building was inaugurated on 25thJanuary 2002.,Seating capacity in the library 450 students. Newly constructed two floor building was inaugurated on 1st March 2025.

Library stores the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve and contribute to improve our quality of life: By Sidney Sheldon.

Library Learning and Support Services : Digital Library :   E-Learning Centre was established in 2006, It consists of 60 Computers .  The Library Provides access to Digital Resources & On -line Databases to support Academic & Research activities, Students & Faculty can access E-resources (E-Books ,E-Journals ,E-Magazines & others . Loyola Library is the members in N-List, DELNET , NDLI & others , Students & Faculty will Register themselves in this consortia for browsing the E- Resources . Reference Section:  in Loyola Library is maintaining four  Reference sections in two floors, with four Schools of books in first floor & in second floor with two  Schools of books , and with General & Competitive books .  Readers/ Users or Clients visit different Reference  sections  and read or refer the books according their interest & preference . Periodical Section : Loyola Library is subscribing nearly 100 Journals  National & International , 20 Magazines & 4520 of back volumes are present in Periodical section students & Faculty visit this section for reference to complete their Research Works . Audio –Visual Room:  Audio –Visual  Room is Special room in a Library or Education institution that is designed through Audio & Visual materials, it is equipped with modern technology to help students & teachers watch, listen & understand education content more effectively . In Loyola Library A-V Room used for seminars, workshops, On-line classes group discussions, training programs & Academic presentations.


Circulation Section : The Circulation Section is an important part of the Library that managesthe issues and returnof books and other materials . This section maintains records of all transactions and ensure that books are return on time.  It also assists users in locating reserving books. The Circulation section plays a key role in providing smooth access to library resources. 

The College Library is an important Academic support unit that provides access to a wide range of Learning Resources  for Students ,Faculty & Researcher’s. The Library aims to support Teaching, Learning & Research activities by providing quality books Journals & Digital Resources in various disciplines.
