Loyola Library

The library at Loyola Degree & PG College is considered to be one of the finest in the twin cities. The existing Loyola Library building was inaugurated on 25th January 2002, with a seating capacity of 450 students.

A newly constructed two-floor building was inaugurated on 1st March 2025, further expanding the library's capacity and facilities.

Digital Library

The E-Learning Centre was established in 2006 and consists of 60 computers. The library provides access to digital resources and online databases to support academic and research activities — students and faculty can access e-books, e-journals, e-magazines and more.

Loyola Library is a member of N-List, DELNET, NDLI and others. Students and faculty can register themselves in these consortia to browse e-resources.

Reference Section

Loyola Library maintains four reference sections across two floors — four schools of books on the first floor, two schools of books on the second floor, along with general and competitive exam books. Readers visit different reference sections and refer to books according to their interest and preference.

Periodical Section

Loyola Library subscribes to nearly 100 journals (national and international), 20 magazines, and maintains 4,520 back volumes in the periodical section. Students and faculty visit this section for reference to complete their research work.

Audio–Visual Room

The Audio–Visual Room is a special space designed for audio and visual learning materials, equipped with modern technology to help students and teachers watch, listen and understand educational content more effectively. In Loyola Library, the A-V Room is used for seminars, workshops, online classes, group discussions, training programs and academic presentations.

Circulation Section

The Circulation Section manages the issue and return of books and other materials, maintaining records of all transactions and ensuring books are returned on time. It also assists users in locating and reserving books, playing a key role in providing smooth access to library resources.

The College Library is an important academic support unit that provides access to a wide range of learning resources for students, faculty and researchers. The Library aims to support teaching, learning and research activities by providing quality books, journals and digital resources across various disciplines.
