The system consists of Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) and Semester-End Examinations (SEE) in a 40:60 weightage ratio, ensuring students are evaluated throughout the semester as well as through a comprehensive final examination.
Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA)
CIA carries 40 marks and includes:
- Mid-Semester Examination–I — 12.5 marks
- Mid-Semester Examination–II — 12.5 marks
- Group Discussion / Case Study / MCQs — 5 marks
- Assignment — 3 marks
- Seminar / Viva-Voce — 3 marks
- Attendance — 4 marks
For practical courses, CIA includes attendance, observation/record book, practical skills and a pre-final practical examination, totaling 40 marks.
Semester-End Examination (SEE)
The Semester-End Examination carries 60 marks and includes comprehensive written examinations for theory courses and practical examinations for applicable courses. Question papers are prepared by experts from outside the college, while answer scripts are evaluated by external examiners, supporting an objective and impartial evaluation process.
SEE is normally conducted in October/November for odd semesters and April/May for even semesters.
