RESONANCE

Resonance is the cultural, fine arts and literary festival conducted by Loyola Academy. Resonance was commenced in the year 1994 and since, it etches a mark on the academic calendar every year. It provides the students with a platform to exhibit, explore and improve their talents. It ensures to provide the students a quality break from their hectic academic schedule. The event comes up with a new theme, every year to witness a wave of talent in the competitions conducted.

Resonance was conducted as an intra college (interdepartmental) event until 2021. In the year 2021, Loyola Academy invited and witnessed participation from colleges in and around Hyderabad as the fest expanded to an intercollege level, and in 2022, Resonance became a national level event, seeing participation from colleges across various states in India.

The competitions that students compete in include the following: Rap Cypher (Rap battle), Resonance Icon, Stand Up Comedy, Western Dance (Group), Western Dance (Solo), Western Singing (Group), Western Singing (Solo), Classical Dance (Solo), Classical Singing (Solo), Battle of Bands, Spell Bee, Debate, Nukkad Natak, Drama, Mono Acting, Quiz, Digital Art, Drawing, Painting, Vegetable Carving, Mime, GRWM (Make up), Folk Dance (Group), Slam Poetry, Solo Instrumental. The schedule culminates in the last two days of final rounds of competition, with the winners being awarded in the valedictory ceremony at the end of the second day. There are also awards given out to the best performing departments of Resonance, which is based on the number of wins the department is able to achieve. The valedictory ceremony is usually graced by a celebrity appearance as the Chief Guest.

NAVTARANG – A DANDIYA FEST

Navtarang was organised on the onset of Navaratri, to emphasise the teachings of our culture; the triumph of good over evil, and as a reminder for everyone to connect to their roots and learn the importance of our festivals and the message that they convey. Navaratri is a season of joy and prosperity and it defines the authenticity of our culture. For the very first time at Loyola Academy, Navtarang was organised to celebrate this great heritage on the 2nd of October 2022.

Navtarang is an event conducted not only for the purpose of entertainment, but also as a mood buster and kindler of the ‘Spirit of Charity and Morality’ among students of Loyola and the people in general.

We at Loyola believe that humanity is the biggest religion, and the responsibility of every human. This aspect had been the sole motto for the event. Navratri according to the tradition stands as the triumph of good over evil, but to help people in need is also one of greatest teachings of the Indian culture which has been manifested through the noble cause behind conducting the event

An amount of 75,000 was donated to college as a fund towards underprivileged  students’ fee and towards helping people in need. The funds raised were also used to feed stray dogs. The event kindled moral values in students, they were taught the value of humanity and charity, this event was a reminder and great cause for young minds to remind them of their social responsibility and while also revitalising them with excitement and fun.

RANGTARANG

To celebrate the joyous festival of Holi in its oldest form, that is only with colours and music.

The Holi event – Ranagtarang 2023 was organised by a few members of the Student Council along with the help of a few external investors, sponsored by Alankar events, Food partner – Jessy caterers and Education partner – Loyola Academy.
The event was organised on the 8th of March 2023.

Rangtarang is an event conducted not only for the purpose of entertainment, but also as a mood buster and kindler of the awareness about water conservation amongst the students of Loyola and the people in general.

The event turned out to be an overall success making all those who came to celebrate Holi feel joyous and happy and to be able to play Holi amongst people of different regions and religions, promoting secularism and unity as we at Loyola believe that humanity is the biggest religion, and it is the responsibility of every human to protect and conserve the nature.
