About Us
The Department of Organic Chemistry began in the year 2003 to provide students with an opportunity to specialize in the field of their desire and to further create opportunities in a variety of feasible areas. We approach the teaching of organic chemistry and various other branches of chemistry in an immersive fashion.

Highlights
Thanks to the excellent quality of our faculty and our obsessive attention to updating our infrastructure, the course is one of the most sought-after PG course at the Academy. Apart from academia, though, we have other tricks up our sleeve to make it a complete learning experience, such as:
Students are required to undertake projects with approved corporations or institutes during their final year as part of coursework.
Our short-term course on Instrumental Techniques is quite popular with students of all departments.
In-house projects are taken up by the students under the aegis of our illustrious faculty.
Three specialized laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment mean that our students never fall short of anything they might need as part of coursework. Drop by for a visit.

1. Dr. P. Thirupathi has published a paper “Pyrene Excimer-Based Peptidyl Chemosensors for the Selective Detention of Low Levels of Heparin in 100% Aqueous Solution and Serum Samples” in Applied Materials and Interfaces (ACS) with an Impact factor 6.673 in June, 2015.
2. A guest lecture was arranged for the second year students of M.Sc. Organic Chemistry on “13C NMR Spectroscopy” by Dr N.J. Subhashini, Assistant Professor, College of Technology, Osmania University on 5 August, 2015.
3. A guest lecture was arranged for the I & II year students of M.Sc. Organic Chemistry on “Asymmetric Synthesis” by Dr. Pavan Kumar, DST, Inspire Faculty, IICT, Hyderabad on 26 September, 2015
