Passing & Promotion Criteria

Theory Passing Criteria
Students must secure a minimum of 40% marks in the SEE independently (24/60 marks) and achieve an overall 40% combined total across CIA + SEE.
Practical Passing Criteria
Students must secure a minimum of 50% marks in the SEE Practical independently (30/60 marks) and achieve an overall 40% combined total across CIA + SEE.
Yearly Promotion & Backlog Rules
• Promotion to 3rd Year: Must pass all 1st-year courses and carry ≤ 50% backlogs in the 2nd year.
• Promotion to 4th Year: Must pass all 2nd-year courses and carry ≤ 50% backlogs in the 3rd year.
Backlog Cap & Rounding Rule
To be promoted, backlogs cannot exceed 50% of total prescribed courses in that academic year (Theory + Practical). If total subjects are odd, the 50% cap is rounded down to the lower whole number (e.g., out of 19 total subjects, max allowable backlogs is 10, meaning at least 9 must be cleared).

Supplementary, Instant & Re-Examinations

Supplementary Cycle
Supplementary examinations are conducted only during even semesters. No supplementary exams are held during odd semester cycles.
Instant Examination
Exclusively available to final-year students appearing for the first time in their final semester who have any number of backlogs (theory or practical) remaining in that final semester. Held only after revaluation results.
Mid-Semester Re-Examinations
Mid-Semester re-exams are generally not permitted. Exceptions are granted only under extraordinary circumstances (e.g., severe illness, accident, death in immediate family) subject to prior written approval and Principal/Vice-Principal discretion.
Absence in SEE
No re-examination is conducted for students absent during Semester-End Theory or Practical Examinations under any circumstances.
