Introduction

The Department of B. Com Business Analytics was first set up at Loyola Academy in the year 2020. B. Com in Business Analytics is a six-semester learning program designed for students who wish to make a career in the areas of Digital Business, E-Commerce, and other related areas. Students will gain a good understanding of business practices, processes, design, and strategies relevant for success in digital businesses. The course focuses on preparing future-ready business professionals and aids in developing an Analytics Mindset. The curriculum of this programme was designed to provide a blend of knowledge on both commerce and data analytics visualization. The programme places an emphasis on Data Analytics and Visualization using tools such as Advanced Excel, Power BI & R for statistical computing.

    The program emphasizes on experiential learning that allows learners to apply concepts learnt in classroom in simulated, and real work situations. This is achieved through the exposure to contemporary software packages in the Analytics Lab.

    Carefully chosen real-world cases & assignments are both discussed and used as problem-solving exercises are implemented as a part of the programme.

4.Industry Visits

Industrial visits are a point of interaction between a student and a working industry. The students learn about the latest technological trend which helps them with respect to their future career pursuits. The students along with their faculty visited the Zinda Tilismath Factory at Amberpet, Hyderabad and the Parle-G factory at Saidabad, Hyderabad on 4th  August, 2022 and 27th July, 2022 respectively.

5.Extra curricular Activities

Department of B. Com Business Analytics initiated an event  titled “Kaffeeklatsch” on 18th  November, 2021. It is a formal panel discussion which forms an important activity in academic, business, and administrative spheres. It is an effective tool for problem solving, decision making and personality assessment.

  • Mrs T. Swarna published a paper in a Journal of Emerging Technologies and Innovative Research entitled “A study on Cause-Based Marketing with reference to Procter & Gamble and KFC” on 25th August, 2021.
  • Mrs T. Swarna has presented and published paper in an International Conference on Emerging Trends in Accounting and Finance on Savings and Investment Pattern’ 28th March, 2022.
  • K. Rajitha has presented and published paper in International Conference on Emerging Trends in Accounting and Finance on Mobile Banking on 28th March, 2022.
  • Mrs Rajitha has published a paper in ‘Madhya Bharati’ UGC Care Journal in 2022.

  • Astiker Vaishnavi won 1st place in Basketball Senior districts, Hyderabad held on 9th January, 2022.
