B.Com. Business Studies

Introduction

The Department of Business Studies was set up in the academic year of 2010 in order to institute a comprehensive course in commerce. It aims at imparting holistic education to imbibe the life skills necessary for a career graph in the field of commerce.

Vision & Mission

Vision: To create an educational system capable of imparting training to students to live in a changing world.

Mission: The business studies course helps students to connect two different phases of studies. The course helps students acquire professional qualifications to improve their options in job programmes, and provides business fundamentals that help to prepare students for more advanced studies in particular businesses.

Highlights

While our lecturers go out of their way to make classes as engaging as possible, we also include plenty of practical work and participatory activities to let the students hone their skills along with their peers. Here are a few things we do differently:

  1. Exhibitions and Seminars

We often join hands with the other commerce departments to conduct state-wide and nation-wide exhibitions and seminars where industry experts speak on the latest trends, and hold discussions with our students.

  1. Advanced Teaching Aids

We provide students with two E-commerce labs, one of which is dedicated to packages, while the other is used for practical studies in statistics, etc.

  1. Industrial Visits

Students are taken to various organizations to give them a live demo of every aspect of finance. These visits are often followed by written or practical assignments.

We have created a commerce course that is as comprehensive as it gets, with the intention that our students have a solid stepping stone to the career of their choice.
