B.Sc. Computer Data Science and Data Analytics Engineering

The B.Sc. Computer Data Science and Data Analytics Engineering program was introduced at Loyola Academy in the academic year 2016–17 to meet the growing demand for professionals with strong analytical skills. It is one of the first programs in the twin cities that uniquely combines Statistics and Computer Science, offering students a powerful interdisciplinary foundation.

The course focuses on analyzing and interpreting large volumes of data to support informed decision-making in real-world scenarios. The curriculum is designed with industry relevance in mind and includes technologies such as Python, R Programming, Big Data using Hadoop, and Machine Learning. Students develop strong skills in programming, statistical analysis, and data visualization.

1.Quality Intiatives / Innovative Practices of the department
 

1. Workshop on HTML5 and CSS (9–11 September 2025)
The department organized a workshop on HTML5 and CSS from 9–11 September 2025 to introduce students to the fundamentals of web development. The workshop focused on creating structured web pages using HTML5 and designing visually appealing layouts with CSS. Students gained hands-on experience by developing basic web pages and understanding front-end development concepts.

2. Workshop on DBMS with TCS iON (2–4 September 2025)
A workshop on Database Management Systems (DBMS) was conducted in collaboration with TCS iON from 2–4 September 2025. The session covered topics such as database design, SQL queries, data storage, and database management techniques. It helped students understand the importance of databases in managing and organizing large volumes of data in real-world applications.

3. AI Workshop with 1M1B (1 December 2025)
The department organized a workshop on Artificial Intelligence in association with 1M1B (1 Million for 1 Billion) on 1 December 2025. The session introduced students to the basic concepts of AI, its applications across industries, and the growing importance of AI technologies. It encouraged students to explore innovation and technology-driven solutions.

4. Data Analytics Workshop with ICT Academy (1–5 December 2025)
A Data Analytics workshop was conducted with ICT Academy from 1–5 December 2025 to enhance students’ analytical and data interpretation skills. The workshop focused on data analysis techniques, data visualization, and the role of analytics in decision-making. It provided students with insights into career opportunities in the field of data analytics.

Ms. T Mahathi has received a certificate of  achievement for securing The Best Research Paper for Comparative Analysis of Machine Learning and Deep Learning Models for Multiclass Anemia Prediction in Telangana in the International Conference on Emerging Trends in Science and Technology (ICETSAT-2025) held from 28th July to 30th July 2025 organized by the department of Physical Science, Little Flower Degree College, Uppal, Hyderabad.

Industrial visits are an important part of students’ learning as they provide practical exposure to real-world working environments.   • PLANET-2016-17

    The students of Loyola degree and P.G college alwal  of B.sc Data Analytical Engineering first year on 9th  February 2017 at 9:00am visited to Don Bosco  Navajeevan orphanage that was located in boiguda to help them in rescuing the street children.

  • PLANET-2021-22

    As the students of Loyola, we the department of Computer Data Science & Data Analytics Engineering (ACDS & NCDS) had taken part in the PULSE POLIO CAMPAIGN as our planet program which was held on 27th and 28th of February 2022. We all were instructed to gather at Primary Health Centre, Old Alwal, by 6:30 am. Here we were given all the instructions about what we were supposed to do on that day

    The students of first year of Bsc . Computer Data Science and Data Analytical Engineering visited HOME FOR THE DISABLED, on 15th of February 2023. HOME FOR THE DISABLED is built in the memory of Rev.FR.RAYMOND AMBROISE.

  • PLANET-24-25

As part of our Planet Program, we visited an old age home on September 11th. The visit was a meaningful and heartwarming experience. Our class students engaged in various services and

spent quality time interacting with them, making the day both memorable and impactful.

During the visit, we conducted a range of activities to support and bring joy to the residents. These included :

  • Helping with cleaning and organizing their living spaces.
  • Spending time listening to their life stories, which were rich with wisdom and experiences.

Sharing laughs, songs, and meaningful conversations that uplifted their spirits.

  • PLANET-25-26

As part of our Planet Program, our class ACDS visited an orphanage located in East Marredpally on February 5th, 2026. The visit was a meaningful and fulfilling experience for all of us. It gave us an opportunity to spend time with the children, understand their lives, and contribute in small ways to make their day happier and brighter.

During the visit, our class students actively participated in various activities and interacted with the children. Some of the activities included:

  • Spending time with the children and engaging in friendly conversations.
  • Participating in fun activities and games to create a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.
  • Sharing laughter, stories, and positive interactions that brought smiles to everyone present

NCDS

As part of our Planet Program, our class NCDS visited a Home for Disabled on February 7th, 2026. The visit was a meaningful and eye-opening experience for all of us. It gave us the opportunity to interact with the residents, understand their daily lives, and learn the value of empathy, kindness, and social responsibility.

During the visit, we engaged with the residents and participated in several activities that created a warm and supportive environment. Some of the activities included:

  • Interacting with the residents and listening to their experiences.
  • Helping staff members with small supportive tasks.
  • Serving food and spending time talking and engaging with the residents.
  • Participating in group interactions that brought positivity and joy.
