One mentor, every student, from day one
Adolescence is often marked by intense emotions and impulsive behaviour, which calls for close involvement from teachers acting as mentors in students' lives. Loyola Academy ensures mechanisms are in place to address the mental health and personal concerns of students.
Every student is assigned a mentor as soon as they join the college. The mentor meets them at least once a month, or more often if needed, helping create an open and safe space for honest conversation. Mentors listen actively, help mentees set goals and follow up on them, and are available for academic queries. Drawing on their experience, mentors also guide students on career preparation, and refer mentees to the college counsellor whenever it is needed.
