Best Practices of the Department

Objectives of the Practice: The focus of Environmental Education is to expose students to the actual world they live in. They have to be acquainted with the environment related issues and problems. They must also be able to look at the environmental problems and concerns, analyze, evaluate, draw inferences and equip themselves to resolve them. The main objectives of the activity are as follows:

  • Awareness: To expose students towards nature and allow them to learn and play outside for developing sensitivity, appreciation, and respect for the environment.
  • Knowledge: To acquire knowledge of the environment beyond the immediate environment including distant environment.
  • Attitudes: To acquire a set of values for environmental protection.
  • Skills and Capacity Building: To develop skills required for making discriminations in form, shape, sound, touch, habits and habitats. Further, to develop ability to draw unbiased inferences and conclusions.
  • Participation: To provide an opportunity to be actively involved at all levels in environmental decision-making. The Context Environmental Education (EE) has generally been visualised as a multi-disciplinary area of study.
